COURSE MATERIAL FEE
A course material fee is added to every student’s account in the Business Office each semester. This fee covers student access to eBooks for their classes. The full time fee is $200 and the part time fee is $125. The course material fee is refundable ONLY during the first week of school. Students with approved gifts or scholarships may use their financial aid for this fee.
Although Southwest currently uses eBooks, students may also gain access to a physical copy of their books through Cengage Unlimited. Each student will also be provided with a personal link to access Cengage Unlimited where they can rent hard copies of the textbooks. These links have been e-mailed to each student’s personal and student e-mail address with instructions on signing up.
FINANCIAL AID CHARGES
Starting at the beginning of each semester, students are allowed to use their financial aid funds to purchase any items in the bookstore. In order to make these purchases with financial aid money, students must present bookstore staff with their student ID. These charges will be deducted from the student’s financial aid. Once financial aid refunds are issued students must wait until the next semester to once again use their financial aid for bookstore purchases.
The post office is also housed inside the bookstore. Students may rent a P.O. Box by filling out the Student Information form and paying an annual fee of $15.00 to the Business Office. P.O. Boxes are for dorm students only.
For your convenience, an ATM is located near the bookstore on the outside of the Horace Holmes Student Union. The ATM is accessible 24/7.
