Act Information

The ACT Assessment is a standardized college entrance examination that measures knowledge and skills in English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning and the application of these skills to future academic tasks through multi-choice tests.

Southwest Mississippi Community College uses ACT scores for placement in various academic and technical classes. Some technical programs require ACT scores before a student can be accepted into those programs. Please make sure that your ACT scores are sent to the Office of Admissions and Records, 1156 College Drive, Summit, MS 39666. If ACT scores are not on file in the admissions office, you may be required to take developmental classes or may not be accepted for a particular program of study.

Many high schools include ACT scores on transcripts. To obtain a copy of your ACT scores, you may login at www.actstudent.org or call 319-337-1313. If you have not yet taken the ACT, go to www.actstudent.org or call ACT at 319-337-1270.
