SMCC Alumnus Rings Closing Bell at New York Stock Exchange

SUMMIT, Miss. — Southwest Mississippi Community College is proud to recognize alumnus Ryan Ezell, a 1999 graduate of SMCC and Chief Executive Officer of Flotek Industries (NYSE: FTK), who rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Monday.

Ezell, a Summit native, was invited to participate in the ceremonial closing bell in recognition of Flotek’s leadership and innovation within the energy and technology sector. The moment marked the conclusion of the trading day on Wall Street and was broadcast nationally.

After graduating from Southwest Mississippi Community College in 1999, Ezell continued his academic journey, later earning a bachelor’s degree from Millsaps College and a doctoral degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He now leads Flotek Industries in advancing data-driven technologies that support efficiency and innovation across the energy industry.
