Joe B. Raymond III
Mr. Raymond serves as the SMCC Director of Bands. Originally from Gulfport, MS, he is a product of the band program at Harrison Central High School. Mr. Raymond spent several years as a performer in Drum Corps International where he marched with Capital Regiment from Columbus, OH in 2006 and served as the drum major for the Blue Stars from LaCrosse, WI from 2007-2009.
Mr. Raymond previously taught in Hinds County and Wayne County Schools and has served as a guest clinician at several honor band clinics across the state of Mississippi. He is the 2021 recipient of the Lifting Up Children and Youth Award presented by the GRAMMY Museum Mississippi and the 2022 William Carey University College of Education Most Outstanding Graduate in the Educational Leadership program.
SSG Raymond is also a member of the United States Army, Mississippi Army National Guard as a trombone player for the 41st Army Band where he has received numerous military service awards. He previously served as an instructor for the Basic Leadership Course at 154th Regiment, 3rd Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Camp Shelby, MS.
He is an avid runner and has completed more than 100 marathons across the U.S. and is a three-time 100-mile ultramarathon finisher.
Mr. Raymond and his wife, Brooklyn, are the proud and very tired parent of twins, Jackson and Calliope Raymond.

Dr. Lorrie Stringer
Dr. Lorrie Stringer is instructor of Music theory and Piano at Southwest. She is also music and worship leader at Monticello Baptist Church. She has taught music and piano to individuals of all levels and ages. She loves to read, travel, and spend time with family and her pets, Bailey, BJ, and Ollie.

Carolyn Fenn
Mrs. Fenn serves as the staff piano accompanist at SMCC in addition to teaching private lessons.
She has served as the accompanist for Choir, Stageband, & Vocal & Instrumental students for the past 12 years and SMCC Piano Teacher for the last 8 years. She has taught Piano for the last 46 years & has been a church Pianist/Accompanist since the age of 11.
Carolyn & David Fenn are the parents of Dan (Organist/Choirmaster) & Beth (Nurse) & grandparents of Addie, Breckyn & Judah
