Finishing Up the Spring Semester

What has been probably your most unique semester ever is drawing to a close, so we are answering common questions to help you do your best. Keep working hard!

Proctored Testing with Honorlock

Honorlock will allow you to take your proctored tests from home according to your own schedule.  Honorlock is a Chrome browser extension that will enable secure testing through Canvas.  A quick guide on how to use Honorlock can be found here:

How to use Honorlock

Because we know many of our students and their families are experiencing financial difficulty due to the pandemic, Southwest will provide testing at no charge. Our proctoring lab in Kenna Hall will remain closed as long as we are so advised by government and health officials. We apologize if you scheduled an appointment for next week.

Payment of Fees

Your best option for paying any fees that you owe the college is to login to you AccessSW account. Under Financial Information, Payments, you can use a debit or credit card to pay your fees. If electronic payments are not a good option for you, you may mail a check to SMCC Business Office, 1156 College Drive, Summit, MS 39666. You will be allowed to take your exams if you owe fees or fines in the business office, but you will not be able to register, get a transcript, or graduate until your account is paid in full.

Refunds

The business office is currently working to get any potential room and board refund (especially room and board) to you. The process is a manual process, and our staff are working from home. Please be patient as we work to get refunds calculated and processed as quickly as we can. You may begin to look for your refunds by April 30th.

Summer and Fall Registration

Scheduling for fall and summer classes began Tuesday. If you have not done so already, please email your advisor and get a schedule of classes reserved for you. You should submit your application for summer or fall student housing now. We have a summer schedule that includes traditional classroom classes, but they depend on the status of the pandemic. We have extended our online offerings for the summer, so we can provide most classes we offer online during the summer. Remember that in many cases, pell grants are available for the summer. Your advisor can help with these decisions, also.
