Fall 2010 - Spring 2011 Calendar
- Complete SMCC admissions requirements; call 601-276-2001 with any
questions.
- Complete financial aid requirements, if applicable; call 601-276-3707
with any questions.
- Complete a dorm room reservation form (PDF); call 601-276-4805 with any

freshmen, including all 2009 high school graduates, are required to do so); call
601-276-2005 or 601-276-3844 with any questions.
- Meet with an advisor to discuss courses needed.
This will occur
during orientation for those student required to attend. If you are not required
to attend orientation, schedule a time to meet with your advisor after
scheduling of classes begins. If you do not know who your advisor is, log on to Access Southwest and find contact information for your
advisor by clicking View My Information. You may also contact the
academic counselor at 601-276-2005 or 601-276-3844 or the career-technical
counselor at 601-276-3722.
- Schedule courses.
If taking traditional on-campus courses, either
your advisor can enter these for you or, once authorized by your advisor, you
can schedule your courses through the Access Southwest.
If
taking online courses, follow the directions posted here for distance learning.
- Register for courses (pay fees).
A student is not registered
for courses at SMCC until the payment of fees in the business office has
been completed. Students wishing to pay fees with financial aid or a credit card
may use Access Southwest in order to do so. Otherwise,
students will need to either come to the business office in the Britte E. Hughey
Administration Building on campus, or call 601-276-3702 or 601-276-4808.
- Purchase and/or rent textbooks and materials in the SMCC bookstore beginning about one week before the first day of
class.
- Pick up Student ID and parking decal in the Student Services office of the
Britte E. Hughey Administration Building on campus.
- Go to class!
