SMCC Athletes Receive Five Academic Awards

Five national academic awards came the way of Southwest Mississippi Community College when the NJCAA handed out its 2009-2010 honors recently. 

Former Softball Players Sign Scholarships 

Two more former Southwest softball players have signed scholarships to continue their playing careers. Left fielder Christina Hollins-Campbell has signed with Alcorn State University while right fielder Roxanne Lock has signed with Mississippi Valley State University.

Softball Standout Signs With Delta State

Maggie Jackson, a softball standout at Southwest, has signed a scholarship with Delta State University. As a sophomore, Jackson batted .376 and had five homers among her 44 hits. She also scored 24 runs and drove in 28.
