Health Information Technology


The Health Information Technology program is a two-year technical program leading to an Associate of Science Degree which prepares the individual to work as a technical specialist in Health Record Systems. Health Information Technology professionals are responsible for maintaining components of health information systems consistent with the medical, legal, accreditation, and regulatory requirements of the health care delivery system.

The Health Information Technology program is in Candidacy Status pending accreditation review by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).


Priority is given to applicants with an ACT Composite of 16 or higher (or an equivalent score on the ASSET test). Applicants must fill out a program application. Students are admitted on a first come, first served basis of qualified applicants.
